York-Durham Heritage Railway 2012 Season Opens on Canadian Forces Day – June 3rd

Canadian Forces Members RIDE FREE!

Celebrated every year on the first Sunday of June, Canadian Forces Day offers an opportunity for Canadians to recognize CF members’ contributions to peace and security at home and abroad.

Every day, Canadian Forces members carry out their duties with valour and bravery, often in the face of great adversity. Their unwavering dedication and passionate commitment have earned our recognition and respect. Canadian Forces Day is a chance for you to show your pride for the Canadian Forces.

The York-Durham Heritage Railway are honouring our Canadian Forces members, both active troups and cherished veterans, by offering them a free ride on this special day.

The trains depart Uxbridge Station at 10:00 a.m. and 2.30 pm and Stouffville GO Train Station at Noon.

The York-Durham Heritage Railway offers a great way to share the fun of an unforgettable summer journey along the Oak Ridges Moraine, one of the most scenic railway routes in Southern Ontario. Passengers may even stand in the open door of the baggage car to enjoy the great rural vistas to be seen along the way.
