‘Stories from the Railway’ continues on May 30th

Stories from the Railway, a series presented by the Railway Museum in Smiths Falls and Lake 88.1 Radio continues on May 30th at 7:00pm.

The series started on May 16th, and continues every second Wednesday evening throughout May and June. Join us as we celebrate the lives of the people who worked on the railway.

On May 30th, we welcome two Smiths Falls Engineers, Hugh Cubitt and Jack Robinson. Both men started working for the CPR in Toronto and transferred to Smiths Falls in 1950. They worked side-by-side for over 35 years. The two will share memories of working on the Belleville Subdivision including stories of camaraderie and high-jinx between co-workers. Jack and Hugh have also made immense contributions to their community outside of the railway.

Admission is $8 each evening. Tickets can be purchased at the museum or at the door. This event is aimed at an adult audience.

Our next evening of stories will be June 13th, when we welcome a local railroader who will share stories of working for both the CPR and CNR in the 1960s.

Stories from the Railway is a special program offered by the museum as part of the Canadian Northern Railway Station 100th anniversary celebrations.
