For ten years, local brother and sister team – Colin Hodgkinson and Hannah Hackett have put on the Steamin’ Blues gig at the Nene Valley Railway.
Colin, born in Peterborough and living locally, is an internationally renowned bass guitarist, ranked one of the best in the world. If you’ve never come across him google him and see his history!
This year’s Steamin’ Blues, the eleventh one, on 18th June has now been finalised and sees Colin perform with some icons of the blues world – Dave Kelly, Maggie Bell, Zoot Money, Frank Diez & Colin Allen. They call themselves BBQ – the British Blues Quintet.
As ever, a steam-hauled train (with an all-important bar!) will be available to pick you up and drop you off if you live in the Peterborough area.
The gig, in a marquee adjacent to Wansford Station, kicks off at 8:00pm. There is a bar serving real ale and a food stall.
Tickets at £19.50 sell out really quickly, but if you’ve never been before, it’s a night not to be missed.
