Railroad Museum Friends Ramble to Pennsylvania Coal Country

Strasburg, Lancaster County, PA – Take a turn through Coal Country with the Friends of the Railroad Museum of Pennsylvania on Saturday, August 11 and Sunday, August 12, 2012. Highlights of this customized, overnight Ramble to northeast Pennsylvania are train rides on the Pioneer Tunnel Coal Mine Train and the Lehigh Gorge Scenic Railway, as well as tours of Eckley Miners Village, the Lackawanna Coal Mine and the Anthracite Heritage Museum.

Rates begin at only $375.00 per person double occupancy for Museum members. One night’s lodging, one breakfast, two lunches and two dinners also are included. The Coal Country Ramble brochure and registration form are available on the Railroad Museum of Pennsylvania’s website. Interested individuals also may join the Railroad Museum Friends group online.

Two other great travel opportunities with the Friends of the Railroad Museum of Pennsylvania this year are Riding the Rails of America’s Great Southwest in June and the Kentucky Bluegrass Ramble in September. Seats are still available on both amazing trips.

The Railroad Museum of Pennsylvania is home to a world-class collection of more than 100 historic American locomotives and railroad cars, a vast library and archives, an interactive education center, a working restoration shop, changing exhibits and a Museum store.

The Railroad Museum of Pennsylvania is administered by the Pennsylvania Historical & Museum Commission, with the active support of the Friends of the Railroad Museum of Pennsylvania. For more information, visit www.rrmuseumpa.org or call (717)687-8628.
