New York Museum of Transportation Presents “The Lehigh Valley’s Black Diamond”

Lehigh Valley Black Diamond

The Lehigh Valley Railroad once provided service to the Rochester area, but is now a part of history. The line’s famous limited, the Black Diamond, was known as “The Handsomest Train in the World” and owed its name to the anthracite coal the Lehigh carried from on-line mines.

A one-hour video presentation narrated by historian Richard Palmer extolls the wonders of this famous train throughout its long life. The presentation is at 1:00 p.m, Sunday, May 3, 2015 and is free with admission of $5 adults and $4 under age 12.
